Unleash A Flood Of Traffic With BlogRush

September 16, 2007 | Marketing

There has been a lot hype and promotion for the new widget from mega internet marketing star, John Reese. The new widget is called BlogRush and it is basically a traffic exchange on steroids. It’s similar to every other affiliate program except you get paid in traffic instead of cold hard cash. Let’s take a look at how it works.

How It Works

Simply sign up on the BlogRush site (a 2 minute process) and install the widget in your sidebar. Once the widget is installed it words as a 1:1 traffic exchange. For every page view you generate you will get one credit and every credit earns you one article link syndicated across other blogs that use the widget. In other words, if your site generates 100 page views, you will get 100 links displayed in the widget across other sites using the widget.

Check out this video for a more detailed explination.

Pretty simple right? Well it gets even better.

Increase Traffic Exponentially With Referrals

Built into the BlogRush program is a 10 tier referral system. Every time you refer someone to BlogRush and they add the widget to their site, you will also get credit for their page views. Sticking with the example from above, if you get 100 page views and you refer someone who gets 100 page views, then you will receive 200 links displayed in the widget across other sites using the widget. This will increase up to 10 levels of referrals so you can see how this could really generate some serious traffic.

Targeted Traffic

What makes BlogRush even better is the fact that all traffic will be targeted to your niche and not just general traffic. During the sign up process you are asked to specify which area/category your site relates to. Whatever category you select is the category your links will be displayed in. So if you select marketing, for example, the links in your widget will be from other marketing sites and your link will appear in the widget of other sites who also selected marketing as their category.

Should You Sign Up

It looks like a great way to drive free target traffic to your site but it’s still new and only time will tell how successful it will be. One thing’s for sure though, it’s getting a lot of attention and hype, even from the big boys who usually wait until things like this have proven themselves before they promote them.

I’ve installed the widget in my sidebar and will be keeping a close eye on how it performs over the next week or so. I’ll keep you guys updated with some stats periodically so you can judge how beneficial something like this might be for you.

Sign up and get free targeted traffic for your site.

It’s definitely taken off. I’ve never seen so many posts on a single topic before. I still think it caters more toward the higher traffic bloggers. The smaller blogs really don’t have much of a chance in terms of numbers compared to some like John Chow and Problogger.

Jorge: You’re correct, a blog with a high amount of traffic will get more links and have an easier time generating referrals starting out. However, I think something like this can really help those blogs with lower amounts of traffic as well.

If you blog doesn’t get many visitors than every one really counts and even just a few new visitors will be greatly appreciated. Plus, every new visit is another link to your article through the widget which could in turn lead to another visit. And round and round they go as their exposure increases.

I’ll be interested to see how this works for you.

I have just signed up for it today. So far, I have read two other posts on this. One showed an increase in stats and liked it, while another saw increase in BlogRush’s stats but not in her personal stats counter. How has it worked for you so far?

I signed up for it a few days ago and we’ll see how much traffic it generates for me. Most of my referrals are from StumbleUpon.

I’ve had a few clicks but nothing substantial. I’ve also noticed that their stats and my stats don’t match up, however I think I’ve gotten a few more clicks than what has shown up in the BlogRush stats.

Sydney: I’d be curious to see what kind of traffic BlogRush generates for you. StumbleUpon is my biggest referrer of traffic as well.
