Weekend Reading: September 15, 2007
Here are a few articles from around the blog sphere (and my RSS reader) that I found interesting and that may be of interest to you as well.
Paid Links: Are They Good or Bad?
Google’s recent ban of Text Link Ads has spurred a few questions about the business of paid links and opinions are all over the board. Chris Garrett spells out his stance and asks Where Do You Stand on the Paid Links Issue?
Forget the 4 Hour Workweek. Try the 16 hour workday!
Nate Whitehill talks about how by creating an opportunity (redesigning John Chow’s Blog) he has been able to start an internet business, work 16 hours a day, and enjoy every minute of it.
Getting Started with OpenAds
Mark from 45n5 has recently taken the plunge and started using OpenAds. Check out this video where he talks about getting started with OpenAds and his first few days with the program.
The Great RSS Feed Debate
One of the most common debates when it comes to blogging is whether to offer full or partial feeds. In order to flesh out arguments from both sides, Darren Rowse of ProBlogger has hosted a debate between Gina Trapani (partial feeds) and Rick Klau (full feeds). I’m not sure any clear winner was established but some very goods arguments for each were raised.
Using Forums to Grow Your Blog
Methods for finding readers and growing a blog is something every blogger needs to be concerned with and one of the best ways to do that is by participating in forums. PureBlogging has a guest post by Steven Snell of Vandelay Website Design that discusses how to effectively use forums to grow your blog.
