Weekend Reading: September 1, 2007

September 1, 2007 | General

Here are a few articles, and a couple contests, from around the blog sphere (and my RSS reader) that I found interesting and that may be of interest to you as well.

Ashley Qualls, Teenage Millionaire and Entrepreneur
DoshDosh has a great case study of a Teenage Millionaire: Ashley Qualls and WhateverLife.com. Ashley is a 17 years old high school dropout that has made more than $1 million from her website that attracts more than 7 million monthly visitors and 60 million page views. Fastcompany also has a fascinating article on Ashley.

Analysis of StumbleUpon’s Top 50 Stumblers
Glen Allsopp over at ViperChill (cool logo by the way) has a great look at the Top 50 Stumblers of StumbleUpon and what it takes to get there. A must read if you ever wondered what it would take be in the top 50.

I heard about whateverlife recently too. I bet all that newfound press on her will make her website grow even more than the thousands she already makes. As much as I love to see a 17 year old (like myself) making millions, I would never drop out of high school.

Oh well, money changes people I guess.

Word Hugger: I’d like to say that I wouldn’t have dropped out of high school if I was making millions, but I wasn’t in that position, so I can’t say for sure. I’d wouldn’t mind being tested though.
