Weekend Reading: August 18, 2007

August 18, 2007 | General

Weekend Reading is a weekly series where I link to 4 or 5 post, and a couple contests, from around the blog sphere (and my RSS reader) that I feel you may be of interest to you.

As a part of ProBloggers “31 Days to Building a Better Blog Project”, Darren Rowse gives a good explanation of how to create a “Sneeze Page” is and why it’s important. A very good idea that I plan on implementing here once I get a few more posts under my belt.

Social media site, del.icio.us, can be a great source for driving traffic to your blog if you make the most of it. Check out Vandelay’s article on 10 Tips for Making Your Blog Posts More del.icio.us for information on how you can tap into this resource.

It seems everyone is talking about ProBlogger’s recent re-design and there are some strong opinions about it. Before making your own decision, you might be interested in Wisdump’s side by side comparison of old and new designs.

Brian Heys talks about the current trend of dumping Google Adsense, the temporary resurgence of banners, and asks if Adsense has already had it’s day.

Contests

Ben Cook over at the Blogging Experiment is hosting a contest where the winner receives The Complete Blogging Package which includes a 3 month subscription to the Blog Mastermind Mentoring program, a copy of Aaron Wall’s SEO Book, and a free blog critique from Chris Garrett. Unlike other contests all you need to do is link back to the Blogging Experiment home page with a variation of the anchor text “make money blogging“.
