Google Finally Updates PageRank
With all of the false alarms and mis information about when, or if, Google was going to update PageRank, I was beginning to wonder if Average Joe Blogger would ever get a rank. Or if I would be destined to see N/A forever. Well, apparently the wait is over. I just check my PageRank and much to my surprise Average Joe Blogger now has a PageRank of 4.

It’s no 7, but for a blog that’s only a few months old, I think it’s pretty respectable. If you haven’t checked your PageRank lately, you should go see where you now stand with Google. iWebTool has a great tool for checking PageRank.
Has your rank been updated? Was Google kind to your blog or not?

Congratulations Joe! I just received my very first ranking as well, and I’m happy to say I also have a page rank of 4.
How do you know when google updates? I mean is this the last update for awhile? I’m afraid it’s going to go away any minute. I keep looking it up over and over as if it will disappear. How often do they do update?
Just wondered if you knew. Congrats again.
Ann
Congratulations for the PR4. Keep up with the nice contents!
@Ann: I’ve been checking the status of my PageRank every week or so just keep an eye on it. Mainly because Average Joe Blogger hadn’t been ranked and I was anxious to see what it’s rank might be.
Usually (at least in the past) Google updates “public” PageRank about once a quarter. However, the last update has taken quite a bit longer. Your guess is as good as mine on the future schedule of updates.
This whole pagerank thing confuses me. I have one site that does nothing but redirect to another site. The site that redirects has a pagerank of 5 and the site that it redirects to has a pagerank of 3. It’s pretty strange. Can someone suggest to me why this would be?
Redirect site: www.avtak.com
Site directed to: www.StoneyCreekWebDesign.com
My Google PR increased to 5!
@David: That’s a strange one. What kind of redirect are you using? 301?
My pagerank went from 0 to 3, I’m happy
Nate,
I am using this code within a PHP block:
$redirect_path_file = “http://www.stoneycreekwebdesign.com/”;
header(”Location: $redirect_path_file”);
@David: I think you would be better off redirecting the entire domain using a 301 redirect. Check out this page that talks about 301 redirecting.
If you’re on a Linux server and have Apache Mod-Rewrite enabled, I would suggest using the “.htaccess” method.
Nate, congratulations on the PR4!
My blog is a little over a month old and its got a PR4 too, which came as quite a surprise - a pleasant one all the same!
Keep up the good work!
Congrats! My PR dropped on a couple of sites, but the traffic went up all around. Go figure…
Congratulations! Welcome to the PR4 club
I’m happy to.
Google’s given me a PR3.
Keep it up
My blog went from 0 to 4 but my main site went from 5 to 3
Congrats Joe, a 4 is anything but average.
